Antibiotics for Parkinson's?

Antibiotics could be the next big miraculous solution to Parkinson's. The latest research from Caltech shows that gut bacteria could be involved with this debilitating disease. In this research, genetically engineered mice prone to Parkinson’s were divided into two groups: first, introduced to a specific type of gut bacteria and second, not introduced to them. The result : mice exposed to gut bacteria showed increased symptoms of Parkinson’s compared to the other group.
This is not the first time that gut has been linked to the brain. Earlier researchers suggested that conditions like autism and anxiety could be related to the gut. There could be a brain-gut relation through vagus nerve as patients who have this nerve severed due to any surgery have lesser risks for Parkinson’s later in life
So, hold on antibiotics could be the silver lining for the deep dark cloud of Parkinson’s.
